Our Coaching Approach

Mindfulness Coaching Approach

Coaching is not consulting, advisory or even therapy. It is an approach that enables you to achieve your deepest desires by working with someone trained in the art. The great thing about coaching is that you own and drive the entire process and can change whatever you want whenever you want. That said, it is some of the hardest work you may ever do but it offers rewards you may have only dreamt about – the greater the challenge, the greater the reward. And you will be surprised and amazed by what you will find and accomplish.

Selecting a Coach

If you’ve done a web search, you’re probably overwhelmed with the results, but you’ll want to narrow it down to those who have training or credentials from a internationally-recognized authorizing organization. You may prefer someone with a particular gender or cultural background. Most importantly, you want a coach to whom you can relate and talk easily. Be careful with anyone who needs you to pay up front or is at all ambiguous about how they handle people and their personal information. It can’t hurt to have a list of attributes that work for you and a list of “non-starters” but remain open to new possibilities and experiences.

Starting a Coaching Relationship

Once you’ve narrowed it down it’s important to agree with the coach on how the relationship is going to run. While you don’t want to get mired in legality, you want to establish a contract between the two of you that lays out the relationships what’s, how’s, when’s and where’s.

Getting the Most out of Your Coaching Relationship

Coaching is an iterative process that brings big results – if you want it. Again, you own the process and it is you – with your coach partner – who will be doing the hard work. But it is you who will be reaping the rewards. The key to success is open and honest communication with your coach and with yourself.
